When working with clients I combine each of the forms of Reflexology that I have learned. This allows me to create a unique and effective therapy session for each client, each and every time!
Basic Reflexology involves the study of human anatomy. Each Reflexology Therapist is taught an established routine when first learning. This routine ensures that every aspect of the feet and ankles are touched and stimulated. This is what I call Basic Foot Reflexology. It is a thorough and pre-planned routine which is effective, but just a start.
Chi'n Reflexology blends the knowledge of foot and hand reflexology with the knowledge and flow of the 12 meridians of the body.
Gently stimulating the si points (pressure points) happens natually while administering reflexlology. Having the understanding of the meridians and the knowledge of how to apply gentle pressure (acupressure) to stimulate this invisible electrical energy system, further assists the body's effort to heal itself and return to it's optimal state. It also allows for further explination as to why Reflexology Therapy sessions tend to be so effective.
A unique aspect with this teaching is using acupressure on the ears which also has it's similarities to ear reflexology.
Thai Foot Refexology originated in Thailand approximately 2000 years ago. It is considered the marriage of India and Asia.
It requires that the foot and ankle as well as the lower leg, up to and including the knee be stimulated.
The original Shivago Komarpai Method follows a layed out plan with the intention to stimulate and create movement in the meridians of the body. This is done by applying gentle fricton on the lower meridian lines through stretching, massage, thumb walking and the use of a specifically-tooled wooden stick to stimulate the reflex points.
The use of the wooded foot stick is unique to this Reflexology Therapy. Prior to Thai Foot Reflexology, Reflexology was known as a hands only therapy.
